When you read the name Julie's Hijabs did you get a preconceived vision of who I might be? We all have preconceived ideas. Since becoming a Muslim 5 years ago one thing I can tell you is Muslims do not fit most stereotypes. The image the media portrays of us is terribly skewed or is a sampling of a very small group of Muslims.

Muslims come from all walks of life, diverse Nationalities and cultures not just Arab.



Actually I have yet to meet a Muslim who fits the news stereotype. The average Muslim I know is middle-class American doing the same average stuff other Americans do. Of course their are differences maybe in types of food they eat, the way they dress... you know cultural stuff but the same kind of folks as the rest of America. To me cultural differences just make them more interesting.
